Geographic environment

The Bund (East Zhongshan No.1 Road) is located in the central part of Shanghai and the eastern part of Huangpu District with a latitude of 31 24’, longitude of 121 49’. It is located in the east of the Bund and Lujiazui across the Huangpu River, 2 kilometers west of Shanghai People’s Square and north of the Suzhou estuary. The Bund runs through nine roads from north to south: South from Suzhou River Road, Beijing East Road, Dianchi Road, Nanjing East Road, Jiujiang Road, Hankou Road, Fuzhou Road, Guangdong Road and Yan’an East Road, covering a total length of 1.5 kilometers.

The Bund has four distinct seasons, mild and humid, abundant rainfall, long frost-free period, and belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate. The Bund is short in spring and autumn and long in winter and summer. More than 60% of the annual rainfall is concentrated in the flood season from May to September.
